The Downland Veterinary Group started in Chichester in 1946. Initially concentrating on farm work the practice expanded to Emsworth in the 1970’s to open a small animal clinic and covered a whole range of farm, equine and companion animal work. As the veterinary profession changed the practice has stayed at the forefront of medicine and surgery and over the last two decades we have concentrated solely on small animal work. Today we have seven vet practices covering Hampshire and West Sussex offering the highest quality care for the regions pets.
WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM US
Delivering a first class service is our priority at Downland Veterinary Group. We take great pride in the investment in facilities that we have at our clinics, but appreciate that the most important thing we offer is the quality of our staff. Our vets, nurses and receptionists are here to care for both you and your pets and offer you the best possible service.
We ensure that our staff engage in regular training to keep up to date with the latest development in veterinary medicine and place a high emphasis on customer care. Many of our staff have been with the group for many years and we are fortunate to be able to offer you a consistent service with faces that you get to know and hopefully build trusting relationships with.
You can also expect to find a group of veterinary clinics that provide their own 24 hour emergency service. We recognise that the time you need us most is when you have an emergency situation, fortunately, we do not pay other practices to do this work for us, we choose to make sure that we provide our own out of hours care so that when you need us you know where to go.

WHAT TO DO IF YOU HAVE ANY CONCERNS
If you have any concerns about the care of your pet we recommend in the first instance that you should discuss these with the Veterinary Surgeon providing care to you. Should your concerns not be satisfactorily addressed you may then write to the Practice Manager at our Emsworth clinic (click here for address). The Practice Manager will then review the complaint and investigate the matter. It is our policy to acknowledge written correspondence relating to client concerns within 7 days and to have completed an investigation and provided a complete response within 30 days, if circumstances delay this process you will be kept informed of the process.

Our group features four main sites, Emsworth, Denmead, Chichester and Bognor Regis, these clinics are nurse training sites with comprehensive diagnostic and surgical facilities. Bognor Regis is also staffed 24 hours a day. Our other two sites, Havant and Barnham, are smaller clinics offering an appointment service, both of these clinics refer casework to the larger clinics if required to provide the best level of care for your pet. In 2015, we completed the acquisition of our newest clinic in Bordon.
