<![CDATA[Denmead: Crazy times on our final day of work!]]>Fri, 24 Jun 2011 14:35:41 GMThttp://www.downlandvets.co.uk/1/post/2011/06/denmead-crazy-times-on-our-final-day-of-work.htmlFriday, 24 June 2011

Our new clinic still looks like a building site!!! However, we are almost finished after a mad week of trying to get everything finished in time for the Open Day tomorrow.

As I type, there must be about 30 contractors in the clinic busily finishing off all the work, our fantastic project manager, Gary Deal, assures us it will all be sorted though, so we remain calm and wait till we can start scrubbing and cleaning the clinic from top to bottom to prepare for tomorrow.

The Open Day should be fab! We have booked a Dalmatian Bouncy Castle, face painting, free BBQ and drinks to help everyone celebrate the opening, which will be performed by the Deputy Mayor of Winchester. In addition, everyone visiting will have the opportunity to take a tour of the clinic and meet the staff, plus we have a special guest, Chewy the Dog!

Of course we hope everyone will enjoy the Open Day, but it's important for us to remind everyone that the clinic will also be open for appointments from Monday 27 June 2011. We have already had lots of clients pre-register using our on line form, however, we welcome you to come along to the clinic from Monday, have a look around and register with us.

Clients that have pre-registered their interest in Denmead have all received a voucher pack with some special offers - it's not too late to register your interest if you haven't already... click here to register and receive your welcome offers.

Look forward to seeing you all soon...

<![CDATA[Denmead Update 16 June]]>Thu, 16 Jun 2011 21:20:12 GMThttp://www.downlandvets.co.uk/1/post/2011/06/denmead-update-16-june.htmlThursday, 16 June 2011

Exciting times at our Denmead building site - firstly, we have confirmed the date for our OPEN DAY, it will be on Saturday, 25 June 2011, 1-4pm. The clinic will be open for appointments from Monday 27 June! The 'Dalmatian Bouncy Castle' has been booked, the balloons are on order, the BBQ will be there, the big question left now is do we go for Pimms or Champagne? ....or BOTH!!

With less than 10 days until our Open Day, it's all hands on deck to get everything up and running. With the plastering finished and most of the paint work complete, it is all taking shape. The flooring goes down today, and will be a far cry from the rubble that was everywhere just a few months ago. All the plumbing is in, with running water on tap, and the fitters are finishing the piped gas supply to all the clinical areas. The builders are going to work through the weekend so that next week we can start getting the consulting rooms and the prep-room stocked ready for work on Monday 27 June.

All of our staff who will be working in the clinic have started with us (at our Emsworth clinic for now)... More news about our staff to follow! And yes, the builders are confident we will be ready for the Open Day (just a reminder - it's 25 June, we hope to see you there!).

More news to follow soon...

Remember to keep checking back for more progress and register here to get updates, news of our opening date and an invite to our open day.

<![CDATA[June 2011 is National Microchipping Month]]>Mon, 13 Jun 2011 09:21:19 GMThttp://www.downlandvets.co.uk/1/post/2011/06/june-2011-is-national-microchipping-month.htmlDownland Veterinary Group is pleased to be supporting National Microchipping Month throughout all its clinics.

To support the national campaign, and to help encourage as many pet owners to microchip their pets as possible, our price of microchipping has been reduced to only £14.98 (inc VAT) per pet (discounted price available from 01/06/2011 to 30/06/2011 only).

How does it all work?

A microchip is an electromagnetic coil placed in a capsule which is the size of a grain of rice (see photo above). Like an injection, it is inserted painlessly into the scruff of your pet. Here it remains as a permanent means of identification. Your contact details are recorded onto the Pet log national database. If your pet is found, a scanner is passed over the neck area of your pet. It reads the Microchips unique identification number.

The finder calls the database and, after security questions is able to contact you to reunite you with your beloved pet. All this peace of mind LIFELONG for only £14.98.
Last year Pet log assisted with 114,000 lost and found calls. Let your pet be safe and returned with a Microchip.
Call your local Downland Veterinary Surgery to book an appointment today.

During June 2011 Pet Log is offering all owners of microchipped pets registered on their database the opportunity to update their contact details for FREE (online only - normal price £5.00 pet pet). It is of utmost importance that the database has recent contact details.
